Brighton hotel searched after hoax bomb threat

-

The Brighton Grand Hotel was evacuated last night after a bomb threat.

Military ordnance disposal were drafted in to assist with the search at the Sussex hotel after an anonymous phone call alleged there was a bomb on the premises. Nearby roads and car parks were closed, but no suspicious item was found at the hotel.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Thorough searches took place with the assistance of specially trained police search advisers, local officers, police dogs, and military ordnance disposal experts. Nothing untoward was found and the call is being regarded as a hoax.”
