Jurassic bus tour axed over local ‘whining’

-

An open top bus along the Jurassic Coast has been axed because of the “whining” locals, its owner has said.

The Jurassic Mule, which operated along the Devon and Dorset coast, ran for the last time yesterday amid claims that its drivers had been abused and access to its depot blocked.

Owner Derek Gawn, who had been running the tours since 2015 and employed 25 people, said that although the majority of people supported the business he could “no longer cope with the 1 per cent”.

He said: “”I have finally made my mind up, and the final nails were not mechanical issues or the weather. It’s the continual whining of a few.”

The company claims that some residents close to the car park where they left their vehicles did not want the busses outside their homes and had taken to “shouting at drivers”.
