‘Monkey selfie’ royalties row ends with donation

The legal battle over who owns royalties to the famous “monkey selfie” has been settled. David Slater, whose camera was used by a crested black macaque in Indonesia, is to donate 25 per cent of the royalties to charities protecting the monkeys’ habitat. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals had argued copyright belonged to the macaque.
