Rio’s CFO to retire amid search for chairman
Rio Tinto’s chief financial officer says he plans to retire next year, leaving the FTSE 100 miner searching for both a new CFO and new chairman. Chris Lynch will be stepping down from the finance chief role in September 2018. Rio Tinto said a replacement would be announced in due course, with planning already under way. The announcement comes as Rio continues its search for a new chairman. Jan Du Plessis earlier this year said he was leaving Rio to join BT.
