Gay Serbian PM joins Pride rally

Serbia’s first openly gay prime minister yesterday joined several hundred gay activists at a Pride event in Belgrade amid tight security in the conservative Balkan country.

“My message here today is that the government respects all citizens,” Ana Brnabić told reporters.

Riot police cordoned off the city centre with metal fences to prevent clashes with extremist groups.
