Preventing terrorism
SIR – The messages of defiance from political leaders following the latest terrorist outrage in London are becoming too familiar.
I would like to hear less rhetoric and see more action – not just in the wake of each atrocity, but as a strategy to identify and counter those with evil intent. The relevant powers must take that action now, instead of waiting for the next attack. Mick Ferrie

SIR – Stephen Lord (Letters, September 17) may feel “fearful and intimidated”, but he should not presume to speak for those of us who live in London.
I was out and about on the Tube over the weekend, and didn’t give it a second thought. Judging by the carriages I travelled in, most Londoners were doing the same. Neil Harvey
