Man killed lecturer in random attack
A university lecturer was stabbed to death as he walked to catch a train to work in an unprovoked attack, a court heard.
Paranoid schizophrenic Mark Loveridge, 39, of Mitcham in south London, denied the murder of 30-year-old Daniel Young but admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility. He also admitted wounding another victim, Kamil Bulat, in a separate attack minutes before Mr Young was fatally stabbed near Morden Tube station in south London.
Loveridge will return to the Old Bailey for sentence on Oct 24.
