Misty mountain
Shrouded in early morning fog, the Hope Valley at the heart of the Peak District in Derbyshire is captured in a dawn photograph taken from the top of Mam Tor, a hill near Castleton. Mam Tor (Mother Hill), so named for the frequent landslides on its slopes that have left it surrounded by a multitude of mini hills. There are still active landslides, which move the hill by up to (9.8in) 25cm every year. Weather, Page 34
