Evidence of nesting instincts carried on at Anya Hindmarch, where squashy, sofa-studded handbags, candlewick bedspreads and saccharine wallpaper-brocade dresses underlined the suburban theme.
Not that it was all so decorative – JW Anderson reimagined utilitarian tea towels as the stuff of swingy skirts, tunics and wide-leg trousers, and Christopher Kane created stilettos with kitchen-sponge footbeds, though his glossy white latex gloves owed more to fetishwear than to Marigolds.
