Greenpeace storms diesel VW ship

 Greenpeace activists yesterday stormed a ship to stop it delivering diesel VWS to the UK.

Protesters boarded the Elbe Highway and attached themselves to the loading ramps at the stern, while another group gained access at Sheerness port in the Thames estuary.

Banners highlighted the environmental impact of diesels.

VW said the vehicles were varied, with more petrol than diesel cars, plus 37 plug-in hybrids.

The ship was forced back to Margate, according to Greenpeace. One protester was arrested for aggravated trespass.
