Shares in L’orèal rose 2pc as the death of Liliane Bettencourt, daughter of the firm’s founder, this week focused attention on potential changes in ownership of the world’s biggest cosmetics company. Bettencourt’s family owns 33pc, while Nestlé has 23pc.
