Flammable liquid caused eleven-hour M3 closure
A mystery flammable substance has been blamed for an 11-hour motorway closure this weekend.
Hampshire Police said the “potentially hazardous” substance, which was thrown from a motorway bridge on to the M3 near Winchester, on Saturday morning was flammable but not explosive.
Officers said a similar incident in the same place just a week before was also being investigated.
Winchester district commander Chief Inspector Mark Lynch said: “This is not being treated as a terrorist incident.”
