Manchester bombing surgeon forgives man who stabbed him
♦ A Muslim surgeon who treated victims of the Manchester Arena bombing said he has forgiven a man who stabbed him in the neck outside a mosque.
Nasser Kurdy, a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, was stabbed from behind with a knife as he entered Altrincham Islamic Centre in Hale, Cheshire on Sunday.
The 58-year-old father of three suffered a 3cm wound to his neck.
He said of his attacker: “He is not representative of what this country stands for. I have absolutely no anger or hate or anything negative towards him. I have totally forgiven him.”
Ian Anthony Rook, 28, of no fixed abode, was charged last night in connection with the stabbing.
