Deadly stunt

The last moments of an Italian air force fighter pilot were captured on camera as he crashed into the sea after attempting to perform a loop-the-loop during an air show off the coast of Italy.

Captain Gabriele Orlandi, 36, died in his Eurofighter Typhoon when he smashed into the water in front of a large crowd that included his girlfriend – who had to be taken to hospital and treated for shock – and his parents in Terracina, south of Rome.
