Tech giants face grilling on Russia

Facebook, Twitter and Google have been called to face a Senate Intelligence Committee public hearing on Nov 1 to discuss Russia’s use of social media to influence the US election, a Senate aide said. They were also invited to an open House Intelligence Committee hearing.

Facebook has disclosed that Russians appeared to have bought $100,000 in election-related adverts.
