Youth stabbed outside mosque is ‘critical’
A 14-year-old who was stabbed outside a mosque was in a critical condition last night, as police were granted extra time to question a man on suspicion of attempted murder.
The unnamed victim suffered multiple injuries in the early hours of Saturday in Small Heath, Birmingham. Detectives have been granted a further 12 hours to question a 29-year-old man arrested at 10.40am the same day.
Officials at the Hussainia Mosque said the victim was a member of its congregation, and that the arrested man was not thought to be “associated with any particular mosque or community”.
