Duke to join Queen on platinum jubilee coins

-

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh’s mutual love of horse riding has been celebrated in a set of double-headed platinum coins as they become the first British royal couple to reach their 70th wedding anniversary.

The Royal Mint said they appear in a double profile portrait on one side of the coin, while the reverse has them on horseback, edged with the words “wedded love has joined them in happiness 1947-2017”. They married at Westminster Abbey in front of 2,000 guests on November 20, 1947.

The Royal Mint said the set ranges in price from £5 to £20.
