Star performers Chinese restaurant among winners

Among the new star winners in the Michelin

Guide 2018 is A Wong, a Chinese restaurant in London’s Victoria.

Head chef Andrew Wong was raised washing dishes in his family’s Chinese restaurant, and planned to study social anthropology. But the death of his father saw him return to the business, and his interest in traditional Chinese cooking flourished.

Coworth Park in Ascot, Moor Hall in Aughton, Lancs, and Lympstone Manor in Devon, were all awarded a star, as was Matt Worswick at The Latymer in Bagshot, Surrey.

The Dining Room at Whatley Manor in Malmesbury, Wilts, lost one of its two stars.
