The right to choose

SIR – As the issue of assisted dying is again before the court (report, October 6), it must be right to put it against another human rights concern with which most of society seems settled.

Why is the “right to choose” upheld in respect of ending another’s life – but not when that life is one’s own, and has become unendurabl­e?
