Teacher banned for life over homophobic slur
A teacher has been banned from the profession indefinitely after he said gay people are “sick in the head” and have a “disease”.
Joshua Onduso, 50, nodded to his pupils when they asked him if homosexuals are like animals, a misconduct panel heard.
The science and careers teacher worked at The Reintegration Centre in Berkshire, which caters for students unable to attend regular school due to exclusion or mental illness.
Asked what he thought about rock music and gay people, Mr Onduso said “gay people have a disease” and that “they have something wrong upstairs” in response, a witness said.
