Grenfell ‘foreign’ tenants get chance to stay in UK
Grenfell Tower survivors whose immigration status was uncertain are to be given the chance to become permanent residents in Britain, the Government has announced.
A one-year amnesty granted for foreign survivors of the June 14 fire has now become a route to permanent residence. Brandon Lewis, the Immigration Minister, said the limited leave granted to eligible individuals who came forward by Nov 30 would lead, subject to conditions, to a permanent right to remain in the UK.
