Two US Navy officers sacked for fatal collision

The commander and executive officer of the USS John S Mccain, which collided with an oil tanker near Singapore in August, killing 10 crewmen and injuring five, were relieved of their duties yesterday for “poor judgment and poor leadership”.

The US Navy statement said it was “evident the collision was preventable.”
