Barcelona unity march by 65,000

More than 65,000 pro-unity Catalans marked Spain’s national day yesterday by marching through Barcelona waving both Spanish and Catalan flags and shouting “I am Spanish” after the region’s threats of independence left the country in crisis.

In Madrid, troops and police paraded in front of King Felipe VI while a fighter pilot in a fly-past later died in a crash.
