St Pancras Pianos RADIO 4, 11.00AM

Each year, 45 million people who use St Pancras train station in London. And ever since pianos were placed there for anyone to play, numerous visitors to station have stopped to tickle the ivories or listen to others playing as the soundtrack to the daily lives. Over the years, St Pancras pianists have included celebrity performer such as Elton John, Laura Mvula, Jamie Cullum and John Legend. This expressive documentar­y tell the stories of those who play the piano as they pass through, and those who enjoy listening to the music they produce.

In Tune RADIO 3, 5.00PM

 Sean Rafferty launches a partnershi­p between the Wellcome Collection and Radio 3 which delves into the relationsh­ip between music and memory. It focuses on how music can help dementia sufferers and the ways in which we remember music that we hear. This weekend will include concerts, sessions, and presentati­ons of new scientific research into memory, as well as a special live performanc­e at 7.45pm from Aurora Orchestra, who will teach the audience – including us at home – how to memorise Mozart.
