Thieves have a ball at Ipswich Town’s expense
A gang broke into Ipswich Town’s stadium and had a food fight with cheesecake before returning days later to steal televisions.
Police said security breaches took place at the Portman Road ground overnight last Saturday and early on Wednesday. At least four intruders gorged themselves on food and wine after getting into the Championship club’s hospitality boxes.
They then moved to the kitchen area beneath the stands, ransacking fridges and hurling frozen cheesecake at each other. Three days later, the same group returned and stole expensive plasma televisions.
The club said: “Police are investigating. We have increased our security as a matter of course.”
