Cartoon award for Telegraph’s Bob

The Daily Telegraph’s Bob Moran has been named Political Cartoonist of the Year at the Cartoon Art Trust Awards.

Mr Moran has been our weekend cartoonist since 2011 and recent etchings have included Theresa May depicted as Blade Runner following her disastrous conference speech, and hanging from a zip wire in a similar vein to Boris Johnson.

“Politics has got crazier and crazier and when you’re never short of subject matter the ideas just keep flowing,” Mr Moran said. He has also received critical acclaim for his animated short film, Father’s Days, about the birth of his daughter, who has brain damage, and how his life suddenly changed.
