‘Moral obligation’ Rudd calls for social media help
Amber Rudd, the Home Secretary, says social media sites have a “moral obligation” to stop the use of their sites to promote terrorism and wants changes to strengthen the offence of possessing information likely to be useful to a terrorist so that it applies to material viewed online.
Currently, the power applies only to online material downloaded and stored on a computer or smartphone or printed off as a hard copy.
Facebook says it is looking at AI to automate identification of terrorist material.
