Corrosive liquid thrown in face of teenager, 18

-

A teenager was taken to hospital yesterday with eye injuries after a corrosive substance was thrown in his face.

Police were called to a restaurant in Penge, south London, at 1.30pm where the 18-year-old in distress had sought help, reported the Evening Standard.

Staff at the Himalayan Kitchen said the victim screamed “my life is gone, call my mum” as they tried to wash the liquid from his eyes with water.

One worker said: “It’s terrifying, very scary. It is not a nice thing to happen, so cruel.” The Metropolitan Police said the substance thrown is believed to be ammonia.
