Hardy-friendly homes
SIR – Having been born and bred in Dorset’s Hardy country and spent most of my life here, I find it difficult to support Tim Otter’s view (Letters, October 13) that the Blackmore Vale is being vandalised by developers.
The Blackmore Vale is a vast area and, if developed sympathetically, a few hundred houses would have little impact. There are excellent roads and rail links; and, with the internet, working from home is practical.
I have seen how expensive rural villages have become, edging out locals. Let’s support some development, and hopefully we will see these areas become home to people of all ages and backgrounds. Kate Graeme-cook
