‘Rock hard’ teacher told pupil to punch stomach
A science teacher who told a pupil to punch him in the stomach because he was “rock hard” has been barred from the profession.
Michael Harrison, 47, made inappropriate remarks in class and took photographs of female students at Oasis Academy Wintringham in Grimsby, Lincs. A disciplinary panel heard he also made a series of sexual and personal comments to young schoolgirls, calling them “beautiful” and giving them chocolate.
Harrison also spoke in class of his son’s first erection, failed to mark GCSE Individual Skill Assignments on time and gave full marks for wrong answers.
Harrison, who was not present at the hearing in September, was barred from teaching in England and cannot appeal until October 2021.
