‘Producer hit me for no-show of prostitutes’
A FRENCH chauffeur who worked for Harvey Weinstein in Cannes has told of driving around tearful aspiring actresses after their encounters with him and accused the film producer of beating him up when prostitutes he expected to meet did not show up.
In 2013 Mickael Chemloul told BFMTV that Weinstein flew into a rage after prostitutes did not turn up at the exclusive Club 55 beach bar in St Tropez. He said: “He went crazy and hit me.” In 2014 he went to the police in Draguigan, but said the prosecutor declined to press charges.
Meanwhile Roy Price, the Amazon Studios chief, has resigned following allegations that he harassed a producer and took no action when an actress told him she was sexually assaulted by Harvey Weinstein.
Mr Price initially went on a leave of absence last week. He did not return requests for comment.
