Outdoor play nursery rated best in country

A NURSERY school where children only play outdoors, no matter the weather, and use toys they have made themselves has been named the best in the country by

Nursery World magazine. Dandelion Education Ltd, set up by former primary school teachers Hayley Room and Emma Harwood in 2015, in Marsham, Norfolk, was also rated “outstanding” by Ofsted.

Ms Room, 44, said: “There are no plastic toys here. The only toys here are made by the children themselves. If a child wants a car as a toy and even a garage, they make it themselves. Being outdoors, learning comes alive – all senses are stimulated.”
