Head teacher taking her children on year holiday
A head teacher has taken her two children out of formal education for a year to travel the world.
Louisa Jones, of Civitas Academy in Reading, wrote in her blog that “nobody cares” about her taking the children out of the school system, at a time when parents can be fined £60 per child for “unauthorised” absences.
Mrs Jones, who plans on home schooling her children throughout the duration of the trip, wrote: “As long as you are taken off roll and not causing the school a poor attendance then the school doesn’t mind.”
