Soldier’s daughter died after being hit by boat’s propellers

-

♦ The daughter of an SAS soldier was killed by a motorboat’s propellers just weeks after she qualified as a diving instructor, an inquest has heard.

Madaline Cole, 25, suffered serious injuries to her legs and torso when she and a friend were struck in the South China Sea off Malaysia in May 2013. She did not have a floating device to indicate she was under water, police found. The boat’s driver took her to hospital but no doctors were present when she arrived, the inquest was told.

Coroner Mark Bricknell concluded at Herefordshire Coroner’s Court that Miss Cole’s death was an accident. Her father Bob, 63, had served in the SAS and saw action in the Gulf.
