It’s a family affray as wedding becomes brawl

-

Police were called to a brawl at a wedding reception when a row between the newly-weds’ families broke out.

Tables were overturned, punches thrown and glasses smashed before police arrived at the hotel in Manchester city centre.

Officers were called at 1.35am on Sunday. Hotel staff reported 10 men and women fighting in the reception area of the venue. Those involved had fled before police arrived.

The Greater Manchester Police (GMP) city centre division tweeted: “Congratulations, you may now start fighting. 1.30am 999 from hotel – both families at wedding start arguing, turning tables over & scrapping.”

GMP said a crime of affray had been recorded.
