Dealer jumped in lake to dissolve cocaine stash

-

A DRUG dealer jumped into a reservoir in an attempt to dissolve a kilogram of cocaine after noticing he was being watched by police.

Kerry Reed, 39, eventually waded back to land where officers were waiting for him.

And although most of the class A drug had dissolved, traces were found in the recovered packaging.

Reed was under surveillance in August as he met accomplices Ndrek Prenga, 33, Elton Qajka, 21, and Nikolin Dushi, 30, at Prenga’s home in Ashford, Surrey.

He was given a bag and drove away, but when he saw he was being followed, he pulled over, grabbed the bag, sprinted down a path and plunged into the water.

Reed, of Shepperton, Surrey, was jailed for eight years after pleading guilty at Blackfriars Crown Court on Friday. Prenga and Dushi, from Barnet, received similar jail sentences and Qajka, from Islington, was jailed for three years.
