Bolton ‘would sell home’ to fund his Ukip role

-

Henry Bolton, Ukip’s new leader, has revealed that he is willing to sell his family home in order to finance his time in charge.

The party’s leadership role is unpaid and unlike his predecessor, Paul Nuttall, Mr Bolton is not a salaried MEP. Speaking during an interview with LBC radio, the former Army officer explained that while he had lined up meetings with donors, he was willing to sell his house to finance the position if necessary.

He said: “At the moment I am funding myself. I entered this knowing it wasn’t paid. And, if I don’t get any sort of remuneration from this, then we will be selling the home.”
