Far-right militant jailed for killing police officer

A German far-right militant has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of murdering a police officer during a raid on his house.

Wolfgang Plan was a member of the neo-nazi “Reichsbuerger” movement, which rejects the legitimacy of the modern German republic.

The raid at his house was aimed at seizing Plan’s arsenal of about 30 weapons after his permits were revoked following an assessment that he was psychologically “unsound”.
