Whitby Abbey, the inspiration and setting for Bram Stoker’s Dracula, has been transformed with a series of ghostly illuminations ahead of Hallowe’en. The North Yorkshire abbey, owned by English Heritage, will also stage a live production of

Dracula, with the cast performing in front of the floodlit ruins, said to be one of the most haunted sites in Yorkshire. The abbey will be illuminated every evening from tonight until Oct 31.
