Former DJ says she was abused by singer

A FORMER radio host has claimed she was physically and mentally abused at the hands of singer Rkelly, including being denied food and told what to wear.

Earlier this year the singer, best known for the hit I Believe I Can Fly, denied allegations that he kept a household of young women in a cult atmosphere in Atlanta and Chicago.

Police, who investigated the allegations at the request of parents concerned about their daughters, took no action as the women were all above the age of consent.

Kitti Jones gave a graphic and disturbing account of her time with Kelly in an interview with Rolling Stone.

The relationship started when Ms Jones, a divorced mother, met the singer at Fat Daddy’s, a club in Mansfield, Texas, in 2011.

For two months they were in contact by phone and text before meeting up.

Jones claims Kelly persuaded her to move to Chicago where she says the singer laid down rules which he expected Ms Jones to follow. She was told when and what she could eat, what she should wear and even when she could go to the lavatory.

She also alleged that she was physically abused.

In January 2013, Ms Jones was moved to Kelly’s recording studio in Trump Tower where accommodation was also provided for two more of the singer’s girlfriends.

Two months after moving there, Ms Jones alleged that she was denied food by Kelly for disobeying his instructions. She also claims she was forced to perform oral sex on another of his girlfriends.

She left Kelly in Sept 2013, returning to Dallas.

A spokesman for Kelly denied the allegations of abuse in a statement to Rolling Stone, insisting his relationship with Ms Jones was consensual.

“Any claim of wrongdoing of any kind or of mistreatment of any woman by him is false, ill-motivated and defamatory,” he said.
