Twit-a-boo!

A snowy owl in full flight looks like it is playing a game of peek-a-boo. The bird’s piercing eyes were captured behind its beating wings after it launched itself from a snowbank in Alberta, Canada. The photographer, Sue Dougherty a veterinarian from Bend, Oregon, said: “Snowys hunt while sitting on snow mounds, which is what this one was doing.” She added that her group of five endured a chilly wait in the snow to get the shot. Dr Dougherty, 50, added: “The owl was much more comfortable with us lying down, so it was pretty cold. That was a challenge.”
