Kenyan police open fire before election re-run

Kenyan police fired warning shots and tear gas in Nairobi to end protests in the run-up to tomorrow’s presidential election re-run that Raila Odinga, the opposition leader, plans to boycott.

Human rights activists claimed police had shot dead 67 people since the original vote on Aug 8 was annulled by the Supreme Court.
