30-year ban for boy, 15, who hit football referee

A 15-year-old French boy has been banned from playing football for 30 years for punching a young referee who gave him a red card.

He will be 45 years old by the time he is allowed to return to the pitch in 2047, after the ruling by the Lyon football association. The referee did not suffer any serious injuries.
