Cricketer duped pop fans into buying fake tickets
An England women’s cricketer admitted duping Beyoncé fans into buying fake tickets amounting to thousands of pounds.
Zainab Pervaiz, who also set up online sale listings for Justin Bieber and Adele tickets, defrauded victims out of more than £7,000. The law student, 25, used a Paypal account of a friend’s grandfather, Sidney Bicknell, to take payment from unsuspecting fans. When customers complained, it was Mr Bicknell who had to repay them, and the police became involved.
Pervaiz, of Walsall, has admitted 16 counts of fraud by false representation and is awaiting sentencing.
