Evita (1996)

 Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s acclaimed musical gets a suitably star-studded cast for the film version, with Madonna as the leading lady, Eva Duarte, and Antonio Banderas narrating Eva’s rise to power, her later illness and illegitimate child. As expected, the film is heavy on the music, and, for the most part, stays true to the original work. A gripping telling of a great story.
