Navy cooking equipment sabotaged, say sailors

Sailors at a Navy base claim they have had their microwaves and toasters vandalised to stop them cooking their own food.

Senior staff at HMS Sultan training base in Gosport, Hants, have come under fire after pictures of the cut power supplies were posted online.

Alfie Usher, an ex-paratrooper who runs the site Fill Your Boots where the snaps appears, said: “This is just one of countless examples of a disconnect between the MOD and what’s happening to troops day to day. They’re told to eat healthily while having cooking equipment taken away.” A spokesman from HMS Sultan said it was being investigated.
