Cab driver obsessed with Jemima Khan spared jail

An “obsessive” cab driver has been spared jail despite subjecting Jemima Khan to a “frightening” harassment campaign after she innocently posed for a selfie with him.

Hassan Mahhmood, 27, bombarded Ms Khan, 43, with more than 1,400 calls, texts and Whatsapp messages using 18 different phones after she used his black taxi in June 2016.

Mahhmood, who previously admitted to harassment, became obsessed with Khan because she was the ex-wife of his hero, Imran Khan, the Pakistan cricket captain-turned politician, Isleworth Crown Court heard. He was sentenced to eight weeks in jail, suspended for 18 months.
