Husband killed wife in paedophile row

-

 A husband who murdered his wife after she confronted him about making indecent images has been jailed for life.

Adam Parkin, 35, stabbed wife Julie, a primary schoolteacher, 23 times at their home in Sunderland, in June, after she discovered he had a sexual interest in a child and had made indecent images.

The Crown Prosecution Service worker grabbed an 8-inch-long knife and launched an attack so violent the tip of the blade snapped and was left in his wife’s forehead. He then dragged her into the kitchen before driving to a police station where he confessed.

Newcastle Crown Court heard how Parkin was controlling and aggressive towards his wife. He had told police: “She was so sad when she found out what I really am. I should have killed myself.” After pleading guilty to murder, the attempted murder of another person, whose identity is protected, and making indecent images of a child he was told he must serve a minimum term of 23 years.
