Wreckage of crashed helicopter on seabed
The wreckage of a Russian helicopter that crashed with eight people on-board off the Svalbard Arctic archipelago has been located on the seabed, Norwegian rescue officials said yesterday.
The Mi-8 aircraft, which went down on Thursday near the settlement of Barentsburg, was found a mile east of Cape Heer at a depth of 685ft (200m).
Russian authorities said the helicopter belonged to Arktikugol, a Russian coal mining company.
