Pedestrians injured in London taxi collision
Four people were injured after a London taxi collided with pedestrians near Covent Garden yesterday.
The driver stopped at the scene and was detained, said police, who were alerted to the incident just after 5pm. Three people – one with a serious leg injury – were taken to hospital and a fourth treated at the scene, paramedics said. Scotland Yard said it was “not thought to be terrorist related”. Ed Hoppitt, a witness, tweeted: “Just came within metres of being hit by a vehicle that mounted the pavement and ploughed into people. Covent Garden people down under taxi.”
